Firefox 3 : The Good, the Bad

The Good is that it does feel faster, and it now sports a UI that looks much more Mac native.

The Bad is that many plugins don't work yet, such as FireBug! In addition, the Selenium support for Firefox is glitchy with the new release.

Update: People are coming out of the woodwork to point me at the Firebug for FF3 ... check the comments!

Firebug 1.2 works fine with Firefox 3. I've had no problems with it so far.

Firebug 1.2b3 for Firefox 3 is available here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1843

But like all beta versions, it is not working perfectly. This is why I have installed Flock with Firebug 1.0.5 in it. Flock is Firefox 2.0.x with a nice GUI.

In the end I have FF3 with FB1.2b3.
And FF2 with FB 1.0.5.

Just for general interest, firebug is available for firefox 3 under Ubuntu as an installed package.

Firebug does work, but it didn't auto-update for me when FF3 was installed. You have to grab the new version.
"Firebug 1.2 requires Firefox 3. Firefox 2 users should install the older 1.05 version of Firebug. "

FYI, firebug 1.2 beta (which is available via the extensions menu or the add-ons site at mozilla.org) works with Firefox 3.

I was about to say "firebug is available in beta bladibla."
But I think the reader does know that now!
Nice to see the popularity of that awesome plugin. Could not live without it!

Why does my eventlistener not work on Firefox?
Only can work on Opera. It said something like an element not recognized (i know it from firebug).

^^^^ If you have Y-Slow installed, see if your app works with it Y-Slow disabled. I've encountered some problems with JS events getting lost when using Y-Slow. Does it work in the IE Tab? Consult the Tapestry Mailing list for questions like this.
