What a waste: Kindle and Interactive Fiction

I think its a terrible waste that the Kindle doesn't support Interactive Fiction. I would love the be able to play IF games untethered, and IF is the right game for the Kindle which excels at presenting text and falls flat at anything that requires a real refresh rate (the LCD screen refreshes very, very slowly).

I know the Kindle has a development kit; I wonder what it would take to get IF games playing on it?

I think we'll see IF on the Kindle pretty soon, maybe in the next six months. Textfyre for example is publicly working on this and I know there are other developers interested in it as well. I've played IF on a tech demo interpreter and it's not bad, better than I thought given the Kindle's refresh.

    Distribution is another question however.

  2. Have you tried Parchment? Not an optimal solution, but might help you bridge the six months georgek spoke of...
