DevX has just posted Rapid Java Web Application Development with Tapestry. It's a very fast paced intro to Tapestry and is balanced (yes, Tapestry does have its share of quirks!).
I've been doing my best to push Tapestry over the top for a couple of years now, ever since I left my last full time job and became a consultant. Tapestry really feels there, with more and more people jumping on the bandwagon (in a positive way).
Even here in Portland, I've already met with three different organizations that use Tapestry exclusively and love it. It's another sign that moving away from Boston was good for body and soul.
Howard,
ReplyDeleteAre you implying that Tapestry was not getting the respect it deserved in Boston?
I'm not from Boston, but during the couple of times that I've been there, I found Boston to be more tech-savvy than some other East-coast cities.
I work for a company located here in Beaverton. I was given a choice of a framework for a small app that whould be able to run in Pocket IE as well as IE 6. After much experimenting with Echo2, Tapestry, Wicket, and JSF, I picked Tapestry. I have to admit that it was the right choice. Because of using Tapestry 4 and Java 1.5, I was able to minimize the number of xml files as well as the amount of code it took to create the app. I can even claim that developing with Tapestry was fun and easy. I only have one complain: nobody ever replies to my postings on Tapesrty Forums ;-).
